Handing a 16-year-old the keys to a brand-new Mercedes and letting them drive on the busiest highway without any formal training is reckless and dangerous. Similarly, giving a child a cellphone without guidance on responsible internet use and social media etiquette is like handing them the keys to a car without teaching them how to drive.
Ironically, many adults lack formal training in navigating the cyber world. We’re essentially letting everyone drive on the cyber highway without a license or diploma in internet readiness.
